I started freelancing while studying Information Technology at Cordova Public College — React interfaces for small clients, and an e-commerce platform for a classmate that had to survive a panel defence. That was the first time a deadline belonged to someone else.

An internship at Halcyon Digital Media Design put me on real marketing sites: load times, CMS-driven pages, API integrations. I learned that most performance wins are unglamorous and most bugs are content nobody expected.

After that I built and maintained production sites for hospitality and property brands — traffic that is mobile-heavy and image-heavy, which made me stubborn about page weight and layout stability.

Now most of my week goes to seven production e-commerce sites: Nuxt and Vue on the front, Laravel behind them, deployed through Jenkins onto AWS. The work has moved down the stack with it — I design the data model, write the API, containerise the app and own the deploy. That changed how I write the code above it: fewer surprises, better logs, simpler rollbacks.

I also teach web development part-time at the college I graduated from. ProjectGrade came straight out of that — grading team projects fairly is genuinely hard, so I built the thing I wanted to use.
